Senior Change Management Consultant


Rockwood Company is a fast-growing management consulting firm that helps leading government and corporate organizations solve their most complex problems. Our Senior Change Management Consultants develop team members while leading projects, designing large-scale strategies, and contributing to business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage one large project (with 5 or more people) or manage two small projects (with 3 or less people on each team) to completion, ensuring the effective execution of the project plan

  • Guide project work through creative and diligent project planning, crafting project approaches, assigning roles and responsibilities, monitoring success and managing risks, discussing needs and options with clients, etc.

  • Efficiently design, develop and produce high-quality deliverables using proven methodologies and frameworks

  • Lead data gathering efforts (i.e. interviews or quantitative data collection/analysis) and stakeholder engagement activities to achieve outcomes

  • Design, facilitate, and manage large-scale client strategy sessions to achieve intended outcomes

  • Contribute outstanding analysis and writing to synthesize the outputs of major interactions in concise documents

  • Serve as lead Subject Matter Expert Writer during the development of proposals, writing content and advising on approach

  • Identify future need/s of existing clients (beyond current project outcomes) and work with Rockwood Leadership to develop approach for securing work

  • Lead at least one major business activity (in support of developing the Rockwood business)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, to include at least 6 years in a management consultant role

  • Experience leading change management projects; prior experience leading:

    • Strategy development,

    • Organizational design, and

    • Workforce readiness

  • Experience developing staff members into exceptional consultants, experience teaching basic consulting frameworks and providing hands on coaching for those skillsets, and experience providing constant feedback in practice

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple engagements simultaneously and prioritize demands

  • Ability to “advise/think” and “do”

    • Strong analytical and critical thinker with an innate ability to solve complex problems creatively

    • Client/customer focus with outstanding organization skills and attention-to‐detail

    • Strong leadership with willingness and ability to directly contribute to the creation of client deliverables, not just advise

  • Willingness to travel to client locations in and around DC Metro area; occasional travel outside of DC area/out-of-state

  • Active Top Secret (TS-SCI) clearance is highly preferred; will consider lower clearance levels and uncleared candidates if they can obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
