Training and Resiliency

Rockwood trains and prepares your people and organization to maximize performance and adaptability so you can quickly respond to disruptions or unplanned changes that could otherwise threaten your operations, people, assets, and brand.

The Client

An office responsible for rolling out and training stakeholders on a new cross-enterprise system that would replace legacy systems used to execute a variety of security missions.

Client Challenge

The stakeholders requiring training and onboarding to this new enterprise system were vast in number (over 100,000) and resided across the federal government and industry. The development of the new IT system followed an agile process, requiring an agile approach to training and onboarding.

Rockwood’s Approach

Rockwood designed a training strategy, developed a communications plan and materials, and provided onboarding and training support during the rollout phase of the new, enterprise-wide IT system.

Rockwood executed the following approach:

  • Conducted a Training Needs Analysis to understand the training needs and preferences of the IT system’s end users.

  • Developed a training strategy and implementation plan to train the end users across government and industry on the new system before and during roll-out.

  • Developed a communications plan to ensure stakeholders were informed and engaged throughout the implementation of the new IT system.

  • Provided agile training support during the roll-out such as “train the trainer,” and training product development.

  • Developed a metrics and measurement strategy to assess the effectiveness of the revised training delivery, maintenance, and process cycles.

  • Created resilient and robust business processes to establish the initial training pilot.

Results

The training needs assessment provided the client with the information and tools to deliver comprehensive and effective training to onboard 68 parent organizations and 100,000+ end users. Rockwood’s strategic support resulted in a 44% productivity improvement in the onboarding process.

The Rockwood Training Needs Assessment, Strategy, and Implementation Plan are very credible and valuable tools that we will continue to use beyond their contract period. All the presentations Rockwood has given have been credible. They are not simply parroting information but rather know it and own it. The Rockwood team consistently demonstrates a greater level of engagement and deeper level of understanding and knowledge, and I appreciate that.

[Rockwood] has proven to be an invaluable asset to the Onboarding Team in multiple capacities. They are eager to support in any way they can. They do not hesitate to accept a challenge and step outside of their comfort zone by briefing to or facilitating discussions with large and diverse groups, developing internal SOPs and external training aids, and training federal agencies on complex technical systems, performing research and system tests to ensure understanding and to identify technical bugs or gaps in knowledge or system functionality.
